Roofing

Graphite Polystyrene (GPS) delivers high-performance insulation for modern roofing systems. Engineered with graphite particles that reflect radiant heat, GPS offers superior R-values per inch compared to standard EPS, making it an energy-efficient alternative for roofing assemblies where space and performance matter.

We provide custom GPS solutions for various roofing applications, including flute fill, tapered systems, coverboards, nail base, and polyiso alternatives. GPS is lightweight, moisture-resistant, and available in a wide range of densities, thicknesses, and sizes.

Details & Uses

GPS insulation products are suitable for both new construction and re-roof projects, offering long-term thermal performance and structural support.

Flute Fill

GPS Flute Fill is a rigid, closed-cell foam designed to fill voids between flutes in metal roofing decks. It provides a level base for membrane installation while improving R-value and overall system durability.

Benefits include:

  • Custom-cut with square or beveled edges for any metal roof profile

  • Available in a wide range of densities and thicknesses

  • Delivers long-term, stable R-values (approx. 4.7–5.1 per inch)

  • Moisture-resistant and dimensionally stable

  • Contains up to 45% recycled content; 100% recyclable

  • More cost-effective than polyiso or other rigid insulation options

  • Meets or exceeds ASTM C578 standards

Tapered

GPS is also used in tapered roof insulation systems to promote drainage on low-slope roofs. It helps eliminate ponding while adding insulation value and reducing heating and cooling costs.

Benefits include:

  • Enhances drainage to extend roof lifespan

  • Contributes to energy efficiency and cost savings

  • Custom-designed for your roof with varied slopes, densities, and thicknesses

  • Reduces ponding and structural stress from standing water

  • Manufactured to meet or exceed ASTM C578 standards

Coverboards

Our GPS Coverboards are installed between the insulation layer and the roofing membrane, improving impact resistance and overall system performance.

Benefits include:

  • Increases resistance to foot traffic and wind uplift

  • Adds both thermal insulation and vapor protection

  • Lightweight yet durable

  • Available in sheet or fanfold form

  • Offered with 1 mil or 3 mil poly laminate on one or both sides

  • Meets or exceeds ASTM C578 standards

Substituting GPS for Polyiso

GPS is an increasingly popular alternative to polyiso insulation in roofing. It offers comparable R-values and compressive strengths — with enhanced moisture resistance and long-term performance.

Advantages of GPS over polyiso:

  • Stable R-value that doesn’t degrade over time

  • Closed-cell structure resists moisture and mold

  • Manufactured without harmful blowing agents

  • Can be borate-treated for added pest resistance

  • Low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and 100% recyclable

  • Fully customizable in size, thickness, facer type, density, and compression strength

Our Foam Products

Foam questions?

We've got answers.

Learn more about the applications for our foam products.

Our specialties are expanded polystyrene (EPS), expanded polypropylene (EPP), and graphite polystyrene (GPS), These products have many applications, and can be used in roofing, insulation, landscaping, stabilization, exterior siding, and more.

We do have the capability to customize our products to your specific needs. In addition, we offer custom packaging, either to ensure your product arrives damage-free, or for your own shipping and packaging needs.

Most of our applications can be made with multiple foam types, and we’ll guide you to choose the best one for your requirements. Here’s a list of what we manufacture:

  • Custom packaging: EPS or EPP
  • Insulated shipping containers: EPS or GPS
  • Precast: EPS or GPS
  • Garage doors and door cores: EPP, EPS, or GPS
  • Sheathing: EPS or GPS
  • EIFS: EPS or GPS
  • Geofoam: EPS
  • Roofing: EPS
  • OEM: EPP, EPS, or GPS

If multiple foam types are able to be used in your project, we’ll discuss the benefits of each product and decide together what will be the best choice for your project.

Many of our products can contribute to LEED points, depending on application and use.
