2024 EPS Recycling Report

Industry data on EPS recycling volumes and growth across North America, published by the EPS Industry Alliance.

Many years, the EPS Industry Alliance (EPS-IA) surveys manufacturers and recyclers across North America to measure how much expanded polystyrene (EPS) packaging is being recovered and recycled. The 2024 report found that 206.2 million pounds of EPS protective packaging were collected and recycled in North America — a 22% increase since 2022, and the highest level of post-consumer recovery ever reported.

At Creative Foam Products, we manufacture EPS for packaging, building, and construction applications, and we know sustainability and end-of-life recovery matter to the architects, builders, and manufacturers we work with. This report offers an independent, industry-wide look at how EPS recycling infrastructure and recovery volumes continue to grow.
