Our Recycling Process
Despite misconceptions about EPS, it is a fully recyclable product. Creative Foam has invested in the technology to take our clean foam waste and reprocess it for new log and densified block production.
New Log Production
Step 1
Scrap foam is created during the production process when large blocks are cut into smaller, custom pieces.
Step 2
These small, scrap pieces flow into a grinder that breaks the foam into small beads.
Step 3
The recycled beads are stored in specific silos until mixed in proportion with virgin expanded beads.
Step 4
Logs with both recycled and virgin content are molded and put back into production.
Densified Block Production
In addition to molding logs, we also recycle our excess and scrap foam into densified blocks. This is the same recycling process; however, the scrap pieces are not processed as fine. The beads are then condensed into dense bricks, or densified blocks, and sold to companies who further repurpose the blocks into new product.
